We offer two departure times for the City Tour in Lima:
Our exciting visit begins with a pickup from your hotel. From there, we’ll head to the Love Park, located in the Miraflores district. This picturesque spot offers the chance to admire the famous sculpture “The Kiss,” read passionate phrases from poets about love engraved on the benches, and enjoy the beautiful garden with the Pacific Ocean as a backdrop. It’s the perfect place to take memorable photos.
Our next stop is the Huaca Pucllana, where we will have a panoramic view of the impressive pre-Inca pyramid structure made entirely of adobe, contrasting with the modern buildings of Lima surrounding it.
We’ll then continue our journey to San Martin Square, where we’ll learn about the Colon Theater, the Giacoletti Building, and the Grand Hotel Bolívar. At the center of the square stands the statue of General San Martin, a key figure in Peru’s independence.
Afterward, we will walk along Jirón de la Unión, a historic and vibrant commercial avenue in the heart of Lima. This path will lead us to the Main Square of Lima (Plaza Mayor), the historic center of the city, where Francisco Pizarro founded the beautiful city of Lima. Here, we’ll be surrounded by iconic buildings such as the Cathedral, the Government Palace, the Archbishop’s Palace, and the Church of El Sagrario.
The final highlight of our tour takes us to the San Francisco Monastery, famous for its impressive catacombs, the beautiful basilica with its striking neoclassical altar, the sacristy, the chapter room, and the cloisters. The catacombs house approximately 70,000 remains in crypts adorned with bones, offering a unique and fascinating experience.
To cap off this day full of discoveries, we’ll enjoy Peru’s most iconic beverage: the Pisco Sour. This delicious drink combines pisco, lime juice, simple syrup, and egg white for an unparalleled flavor experience.
The perfect finale to an unforgettable adventure in Lima!
